Rolling and finishing - Introduction

The Rolling and Finishing group of Corus Consulting assists its customers in improving the performance of its rolling mills and finishing processes. The services cover the full range of rolling and finishing processes including flat and long product rolling, pickling, galvanising, tinning and colour coating.

The type of assistance may include:

• Technical audits
• Planning and implementation of performance improvement programmes (case study) and rehabilitation programmes (case study) aimed at enhancing cost competitiveness, product quality and productivity (throughput, yield, availability, etc.)
• Advice on alternative process options and equipment
• Assistance in the manufacture of new products
• Solving specific technical and operational problems (case study)
• Maintenance Systems and Management
• Assistance with the start-up of new plant (case study)
• Assistance in the engineering for supply of new plant and equipment. (See Project Engineering for more details).

The group is able to draw upon the extensive resources and experience of the Corus Group. This includes the Manufacturing Business Units within Corus, together with the Engineering and Research and Development Groups that support the core manufacturing units.
